Training progress.. Tan Lines.. a Quote

Training is going great.  Things seem to finally be clicking for me.  Paces are feeling easier to hit.  Distances are not so daunting. My body is recovering after each workout unbelievably well... I am not left with any real stiffness, soreness, or aches the following days.  Overall, feeling wonderful - LG :D

Last week I had my longest brick to date and it went so well....

Nutrition during this felt spot on:
- Every hour I took in 1 of my 4 Bottles of Poweraid Zero mixed with 2 scoops of Ironman Perform.
- Took 1 gel on each hour mark (4 total)
**140 liquid cals, 100 food cals - 240per hr

Next week I have an Olympic Tri then Lake Stevens is just around the corner!!!

 Tan Lines:
'The Garmin'

'The racer back & Tramp Stamp'
That bottom one hurts. I lather in sunscreen every day. My lower back usually doesn't see the sun and I didn't realize my shirt was riding up on the bike last weekend and ended up with that cute 'tramp stamp' tan line, nice.

Things to stop doing to yourself ...
(Got this from LBC, a page I follow)

Stop acting like everything is fine if it isn’t.

– It’s okay to fall apart for a little while. You don’t always have to pretend to be strong, and there is no need to constantly prove that everything is going well. You shouldn’t be concerned with what other people are thinking either – cry if you need to – it’s healthy to shed your tears. The sooner you do, the sooner you will be able to smile again.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Christie, Way to go on a huge brick! Nice work! You were not only in it for distance, but your pace on both was speedy! Good job.

That sun burn looks a little painful. Ouch!

  2. Awesome speedy brick! You are strong and speedy!

  3. You are wonderful. Love that bottom section. You are seriously speedy on the bike!!!

  4. OUCHIE on the burn, that has got to hurt. Be careful out there in the sun, girl!! :)

You're so dang fast, I am in awe of your brick workouts. Keep being awesome and speedy. And send some my way anytime...I miss it.

  5. OMG your poor back!!!

Nice job on the brick! You were HAULING on that ride!

Speaking of tanlines, Tanlines is a new band and I think are pretty good!
